Tips To Preserve Cigars for Longer Period

Sometimes, premium quality cigars like Fuente, Hemingway, Rocky Patel Edge and Padron etc go out-of-stock because of unexpected high demand. To keep quality cigars for the special moments for yourself and guests, it is good to get the cigars of your choice from the trusted sources like Emerson’s Cigars well in advance. Apart from it, experienced cigar smokers know the pleasure of smoking extra aged cigars and you get the all around appreciation for your hospitality.

After getting the cigars well in advance, you need to store them safe from cigar termites. Presence of tobacco beetles in cigars may make your money a waste. If you do not inspect stored cigars regularly, tobacco beetles may reach even into the fresh cigar lot. A reddish brown powder at the bottom or in the corners of your humidor is the primary symptom of their existence.
To avoid such a situation, deep freeze every cigar you possess for 3 days. After 72 hrs, do not take out the cigar box directly in to the open but shift it on the lower shelf of your refrigerator and let it be there for another 24 hrs. Otherwise, even the premium quality original cigars sourced from the most trusted cigar outlet like Emerson’s Cigars will get swelling on the surface resulting in dense tears causing black smoke.

During this waiting period, cleaning cigar humidor is a great idea to reduce the possibility of tobacco beetles further. Clean your cigar humidor with a soft damp cloth to catch the residual tobacco parts resting on floor. You may use a soft bristle brush also to clean the congested spaces. Use of cleaning agents may spoil the specific flavor of your premium category cigars. The quality of your cigar humidor is also important for long period safe storage, so always use quality cigar humidors available at Emerson’s Cigars like leading cigars suppliers. Temperature of 74F or above is more favorable for cigar Tobacco beetles production so keep your humidor at 68F-70F or lower.
